Harris Timber Products manufacture a wide range of timber buildings and products. In addition to our 'standard' range we also have experience of constructing many other timber products ranging from bridges to cheetah houses & enclosures.

While most of our products utilise pressure treated graded whitewood, redwood and red western cedar we also have extensive experience with green oak and hardwoods. Examples of previously made timber products can be found in the Others photo gallery.

The Raw Materials

Many gardens and visitor attractions require a solution which can only be satisfactorily resolved by commissioning a specific product. In this instance access was required over a considerable depression which varied over the seasons between a boggy mess and 6" of running water.

Built using red cedar this bridge provides both a practical solution and an interesting focal point. Much of our work is completed using redwood - quality softwoods with an attractive price.

Animal enclosures

Harris Timber have been building custom made animal enclosures for Paignton Zoo since 1999. Buildings have included the Bongo house & fence, Aviary (Winter 2000/01), the Cheetah enclosure (Winter 2001), Red River Hog House, Giant Turtle House, Badger House (all Winter 2001/02) and the Lemur House, Veterinary Hospital and Retail Kiosk (Winter 2002/03). Similar work has also been completed for Bristol Zoo.

Obviously we do not expect the majority of our customers to require a 5000 square metre enclosure for their pets but there are many boarding kennels, animal rescue sanctuaries and animal based attractions that may require similar work. but ional design is produced in pine or cedar with robust pre-glazed sections which assemble into

Greenhouse & timber retaining partitions

One of our clients ordered a cedar greenhouse from us and happened to mention difficulties they were experiencing with differing levels in their garden.

After a quick site survey we were able to supply them with a simple and cost effective solution in the form of semi-circular profile log-lap. This practical solution helped the client achieve the natural look that they required.

Bird-viewing Station

Because of our considerable experience in making timber buildings we are able to produce special commissions for specific purposes. Not many manufacturers supply timber bird hides so we were more than happy to design, construct and install this bird viewing station for a client here in Devon.

This building uses pressure-treated framing and shiplap cladding with Onduline roofing sheets. Using these materials meant that the client had a building that met their exact specification, using quality materials but still complying with their budgetary requirements.
