Harris Timber have been supplying and fitting decking for many years - long before the product became readily available. We can offer a variety of decking in hardwood or softwood depending on the customer's requirements and the available budget.

Quality decking installed professionally adds both aesthetic and monetary value to a building or garden project. Decking provides a clean outdoor playing and working space - something that most families would benefit from. For this reason Harris Timber regularly integrate decking with our Harris Office installations - a cost effective solution. Redwood Decking

We offer a choice of 100mm (4") or 125mm (5") decking made from European redwood. This wood is machined with a dual profile allowing the customer extra flexibility when selecting the design of their deck.

Careful installation of a deck is essential to realise the correct effect and maximise its effective life. This installation of pressure-treated redwood boards has been finished with newel posts, balustrade and straight spindles.

Douglas Fir decking

Our Douglas fir deckboards are marginally more expensive than redwood decking but provide even greater durability from this British sourced timber.

Hardwood decking

Hardwood decking provides a naturally durable material for decking applications. Our decking board materials sometimes vary, usually Bangkirai or Balau which provide a warm yellowy red finish. These can be left to acquire a mellow grey finish, or treated with oil or varnish to preserve or enhance their natural warm colour.

Custom decking

At Harris Timber we carry a wide range of balustrade products to enhance a decking installation. Most customers use square or turned newel posts in a planed and prepared timber, a similar finish to the deckboards. These balustrades can then be finished with a straight or turned spindle depending on the effect the customer requires.

However, some customers are always looking for something different and in this instant the customer required what they described as a "rustic finish". We offered the customer several solutions and they settled on this one using 100mm round timbers and 175mm field gate posts!
